EFP:racing cooperates with Rutronik Racing in the ADAC GT Masters
EFP:racing will continue to be represented in the ADAC GT Masters in the 2021 season. As a result, the team of Elia Erhart, the reigning champion of the Pirelli Trophy classification, is looking forward to its fourth full season in a row in the league of super sports cars. As well as some constant factors, there is also one significant new feature to report: the start of a collaboration with Rutronik Racing, the ADAC GT Masters champion team from 2019.
Under the branding "Rutronik Racing by TECE", the team will field two Audi R8 LMS cars to contest the 14 championship rounds. With EFP:racing initiator Elia Erhart and Audi Sport driver Pierre Kaffer, the first driver line-up has already been established. This means that the driver duo will complete their fourth season together in Germany's leading GT3 racing series in 2021.
"The anticipation is incredibly high. First of all, my thanks go to all the partners who have remained loyal to us even in these difficult times and made this commitment possible in the first place. Personally, I'm expecting an incredible amount from the new collaboration with Rutronik Racing. Team boss Fabian Plentz's squad entered the ADAC GT Masters in 2019 and has achieved some really impressive successes since then. You can only have the utmost respect for the work of him and his squad. I'm very pleased that our paths have now brought us together. However, I would also like to thank Team Car Collection for the past two years, during which we have made incredible progress,” declares Elia Erhart.
Rutronik Racing caused quite a stir in its ADAC GT Masters debut season by winning the drivers' and team championships. Last year, the team from Remchingen again fought for the two titles. It was only at the finale in Oschersleben that the team had to admit defeat to the competition, finishing fourth in the rankings. A new chapter is now starting in 2021, together with EFP:racing.
“First of all, I'm very happy to be sharing an Audi R8 LMS with Elia in the ADAC GT Masters again in 2021. With Rutronik Racing by TECE and many great partners at our side, I think we are really well positioned to achieve the goals we have set ourselves for the season. On the one hand, this means defending our championship title in the Pirelli Trophy classification, but on the other hand it also means regularly pushing for the points in the overall standings. We are well aware that the stakes are very high in the ADAC GT Masters, but I am convinced that we have the potential to achieve our goals" says Kaffer.
Even though the new ADAC GT Masters season does not start until mid-May in Oschersleben, more than 30 GT3 sports cars have already registered for the year. With Audi, BMW, Corvette, Lamborghini, Porsche, Mercedes-AMG, Aston Martin and Honda, a total of eight manufacturers will ensure some nail-biting motorsport.
