Sound insulation-tested complete solution
Competence: Project & Planning
Gypsum wallboards are enjoying growing popularity in interior design and renovation. MultiGips and TECE are collaborating with the aim of offering designers and building clients coordinated complete systems. Now it's proven: The fitting of TECEprofil installations to walls made of gypsum wallboards meets all compulsory construction and private legal requirements for sound insulation. Measurements of the sound level at the Fraunhofer Institute for Building Physics in Stuttgart confirm the performance of the complete solution.
Sanitary installations come with numerous sources of noise: flowing water, noise from fittings, banking noises in the shower and bath, noises in drop pipes and drain pipes. These can lead to a complex noise development that transfer to neighbouring rooms as structure-borne noise and significantly reduces living quality. Health protection and personal rights are additional aspects. Complaints are part of everyday life especially in multi-family houses. Sound-optimised pre-wall installations in dry-wall construction in front of single solid walls minimise Installation noises and maximise the acoustic comfort in the bathroom. The Installation components from TECE are acoustically decoupled from each other – just like the total system of the structural shell.
All tests passed
At the Fraunhofer Institute for Building, the sound level of the TECE pre-wall system was measured in connection with different thicknesses of heavy MultiGips walls and a standard solid wall under strict laboratory conditions. Just the use of standard brackets in the drain area enabled all three structures’ sound insulation to conform to DIN 4109. The attachment of Special sound isolators to the drain pipe even satisfies the higher Standards of DIN 4109 and VDI 4100. The especially low-noise F10 filling valve for the TECE cistern was used for all Sound measurements, which made a decisive contribution to the good test result.
