Best Practice: Optimal drinking water hygiene in the senior citizens’ centre
Task and requirement:
Ensuring the proper operation of the drinking water system of a senior citizens' centre (regular water exchange to prevent stagnation). Relief of the nursing staff. Legal certainty.
Solution:
TECEprofil toilet module with integrated hygiene flush.
Standards:
For automated compliance with the recommendations according to VDI/DVGW 6023.
Suitable for:
Facilities with sensitive hygiene requirements and drinking water systems that are regularly not used for a longer period of time, such as hospitals, nursing homes, hotels, holiday homes, housing industry properties.
Result:
To ensure the proper operation of the drinking water system at the newly built Lindenstraße senior citizens' centre in Lohne, a total of 33 TECEprofil toilet modules with integrated hygiene flushing were installed there. The hygiene flush units integrated into the cisterns automatically ensure water exchange to prevent stagnation of the drinking water and the growth of microorganisms if the bathrooms of the total of 76 care places are not used regularly.
The automated process and log function relieve the burden on care staff and facility management, who would have to run water through the installation at defined intervals and keep a manual log without such a device. The TECE hygiene flush is controlled by the nursing home operator with the easy-to-understand TECEsmartflow app via a Bluetooth interface using a smartphone.
