Building planning with the "digital twin"
BIM is a planning method based on a cross-trade digital building model - the so-called "digital twin". This shared model contains information about the entire construction project, such as planning data, materials, costs and schedules. These are stored centrally and can be used by all parties involved.
The BIM methodology creates numerous added values, such as improved collaboration between the various trades and greater efficiency in the planning and realisation of construction projects. It enables conflicts and planning errors to be recognised at an early stage, which can bring enormous benefits in terms of time and costs and also increases the quality of the finished building.
